If you are trying to add snmp template in zabbix and you got above message then do the steps below to solve




Go to   Configuration>hosts> click items


Remove what ever in host field
Type  "sysName" . and Apply


Open Device name in each search result and make it none in "Populates host inventory field"


Populates host inventory field  :   "None"


Then try to  add Template SNMP Generic
